We have a micros Res3700 5.5 on a Server 2008 R2. I figured I'd try to perform a upgrade in place to Server 2012 r2 both 64 bit.
Came up no Microsoft errors. Micros control Panel Restaurant went to yellow dot then red check.
It seems that the sql did not start up. All other Micros services did start up. Seems the service 3000d manually starts up the database.
Reboot and automatically started the database. Got the Green checks on restaurant in Control panel but none of the workstations or KDS controller could connect to the server. The red dot in the bottom right blinks during polling and it seems to poll or blink more slowly then the original 2008 R2.
Checck IIS, Checked Micros Licenses, set user security to lowest level, The executable file that runs the database configured it to run with administrator rights,
I could connect/access the Db via the sybase client.
All failed to resolve the issue.
Its a virtual server so I punted and recreated the original server from back up. If its something stupid that I missed I appreciate the information,
otherwise the plan is to create a windows 10 box and have Micros manually install Micros and move the DB over.
