Hi all...

I'd like to upgrade my server's SCSI hdd controller. Basically do a main board upgrade... new one has a different controller. Is it possible? I know sysprep does it on member servers and workstations... but can one do it on an AD server???

Been testing on another dummy server to no avail... plenty of "Inaccessible boot device” bsod’s :)

are you running sysprep.exe -bmsd? if you want sysprep to do the grunt work put the following lines into your sysprep.inf file

[Sysprep]
BuildMassStorageSection=Yes

[SysprepMassStorage]

run sysprep.exe -bmsd from the command line and it will fill in the section under [SysprepMassStorage] Then run sysprep the normal way. this will take a while but will load all the drivers (hopefully) for your controller.
