UPGRADE from1.3 to 3.0

Is it safe to upgrade from V1.3 straight to V3.0 on a IP 406v1.
I think it is ! But would welcome any thoughts on it!

I would not expect the upgrade to work but I have never actualy tried it.
the best bet is to make sure you have a copy of the CFG so if things do go wrong you can always reverse the process.

Are you hoping to preserve the config? If not I agree with IPGuru - it should upgrade, then default it and program from scratch.

If you want to keep the config, go to 1.4 then 2.0 then 2.1 then 3.0

Although even then if it's not too large and cumbersome a job I would endorse reprogramming.
