Does any body assist me how to upgrade from MCSE Win NT track to 2000 track . I know that for this I have to give one paper , So that It will upgrade my MCSE NT track to 2000 and also suggest me that how to prepare for this exam .Thanks in advance... Hello Friends, I am Sanjay , I am Micro Soft certified System Engineer(MCSE)along with the Brain Bench Certified Professional for Windows 95 and 98 , I am currently working as a web support engineer in a reputed company.

Current MCSEs need the upgrade exam 70-240 which is 4 one hour exams back to back. Pro, Server, Active Dir and Net Inf. You either pass or fail.

You also need Active Dir imp exam or another core. You also need to make sure your two electives you have already taken are current (sorry all TCPIP people).

Then you are MCSE 2000 until they retire that around Dec 2002.

To prepare, use 2000 in anger every day for months. Pro and server. Make sure you know every menu item and its contents and how to configure every part of it both in active dir mixed and native modes. Then it will be easy.

Then it will be easy...

I like the way MCP Magazine (" Certification Magazine ( and MCSE Guide (" built their methods of studying...

But sadly there is no easy way to absorb IT (no "recombinant RNA" supplements, no "Forbidden Planet" learning headsets, and no way to cheat and not get caught--they'll find out during the test, in the interview, or on the job).

But after 18+ years of getting paid to play with other people's computers, I'm still waiting for that braindump that covers "hands on experience"... but I'm not holding my breath...

Go out there and prove you're worthy!

(JTB has a 4.0 MCSE/MCP+I, Network+, i-Net+, CTE, and a host of others. If he doesn't break an arm patting himself on the back, he'll have a CCNA, Solaris 8, and W2K MCSE before Christmas...)

;-)

Thanks for the posts guys. I was thinking of upgrading mine as well. I was unsure of how to go about it. Your posts have helped me out. :)
