Hi all,

I searched everywhere to find this piece of information with no luck.

I have a customer who have an IP500v2 & the current release is 5.0, they want us to provide SLA with spare parts.

since IP500v1 is not available we need to upgrade to IP500v2 & my question is there ae migration/upgrade license that keeps the current licenses for the customer?

the customer has the following configuration:
1. IP500v2
2. Phone 8
3. VCM32 with 4 channels license
4. PRI single with 30 channels license
5. Preferred edition
6. 76 Avaya IP endpoint

I tried RTFM but could not get it.

You can get an IP500V2 and purchase a +32 users (large) 8.1 license which will take you to 8.1.65.
You will need an SD card at the same time as you provide the system.
Have your existing PRI and Preferred Edition license (and any others) converted from your smart card to your new FK number on your SD card (Distributor will usually facilitate this).
Your VCM 32 will release/provide some IP endpoint licenses when you put it in IP500 V2. Not sure the total amount off the top of my head and it's 0130.
You will need to still buy some IP Endpoint licenses to run the IP endpoints, also mobilty licenses for any remote handsets above 4.

You'll want to back up and then upgrade voicemail pro at the same time or you'll have conflicts the next morning.

The IP ednpoint license is a new addition to around release 8.0?
Don't upgrade without those endpoint licenses or you'll know all about it.

Kids, Kids, It's Avaya. You're both right.

thank you holdmusic34 for your reply.

Do you know what is the part no. of the upgrade/ migration license to have the preferred edition & PRI license transfered from the Smart card to the SD card?

Call any vendor they should be able to do it for you

I already contacted the disti & they do not have information regarding this.

Then your disti should get with the program.
You can also google that info in about 5 seconds and so should they. But if they sell it then they should also know what it is.
Might want to use a different disti in the future if you have a choice.

Give a tech a solution and he will be back tomorrow to ask you the next question, teach a tech how to read the manual and he will be able to solve the problems for a life time.

Get a better distri as this is really basic stuff.
