Does anyone have an easy guide or steps to upgrade to GP2010 from GP 9.00.0281? On a test server, I installed windows 2008 r2 standard, sql 2008 r2 standard ed., then I imported the databases from our production gp which has the sql 2005 std on windows 2003 std. After that I installed GP 10 and it worked, but when I try to upgarde to GP2010, I get an error message saying that "Your current SQL Server is not a supported version. Req: Microsoft SQL Server 8.0 Act: Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2(RTM) - 10.50.1600.1 You need to upgarde to SQL Server 8.0 before continuing."

Install SQL 2005 with at least SP3 on your new server then import the databases and then do an in place upgrade to SQl 2008 R2...this will convert the databases.

Do I install GP 2010 after the SQL has been upgraded the way you suggested klewis10367?

Yes....as i just did this...Install SQL 2005, Restore the databases, install Great Plains to your current Version 9 level. Once that is done then do the SQL 2008 Upgrade and then continue with your GP2010 conversion

klewis10367, did you install sql 2005 and gp 9 onto a 64bit windows server? If so which version of windows?

No, I was on version 10 when i moved to x64 and version GP 2010. I don't believe 9 was supported.
