upgrade from BE 9.0 to BE 11d

Help,i uninstalled BE 9.0 then installed BE 11d.when i restarted server 2000 standard the taskbar came up normally but the desktop icons take TEN minutes to show up.i also saw a box come that read [cannot find file (null) or any of it's components....Any Idea what is up wit that.....
