I want to upgrade fron redhat 6.2 to 8.0. The setup I currently have only has a 2GB root partition. My question is, will the upgrade re-size my partition???? (I want to install most packages) If not should I use partition magic or do a clean install and restore my data?

As far as I know you can repartition your drive or leave the partitions there. You can also repartition/reformat from redhat 6.2 first if you like. Changes to the partition table take effect after you reboot your machine. Obviously be careful.

If I leave the partitions there, the upgrade tells me I don't have enought room. I want to increase the size of the partitions & keep my data intact. (i.e.-i want to increase my root partition from 2Gb to 8GB to allow RH8.0 to do a full install & my /boot partition from 23MB to 100MB) How can I increase????

I strongly suggest to backup your data and reinstall. Upgrading of packages is nearly impossible between 6.2 and 8. And try version 9, it is IMHO better than 8.
