Were looking to upgrade 2-2400 platforms to SV8500. Any problems our concerns that I should be worried about? I know I can go pure IP or hybrid and hybrid is the way we decided. Will the 16 port digital/analog circuit cards be compatible with the SV8500? Will the Dterm Series E units be compatible?

Thanks for your feedback

Depending on the revision of your existing cards, some may require a chip set upgrade. the Series E dterms should not be a problem. Hybrid is the way to go if you cannot afford to go pure IP. you can use the existing PIMs with the SV8500.

I've previously quoted the upgrade and it looks as if there are chipset kits included for analog and digital cards. By anychance does anybody know what the price difference would be between the IP licenses and SIP licenses? I know the SV8500 phone units require a SIP license for each station and from what the vendor is saying the new phones are cheaper than the IP phones? Thanks for the reply!

i think the pricing is pretty similar when it comes to licensing SIP vs IP. what model of phone are you looking at? The Desi-less ITL is a nice phone.

Possibly the ITL 12 button with display. We currently have a Cisco Call Manager with Unity and have decided to scrap this expensive equipment and need replacements,at the sametime looking to upgrade. I need to look at the features that the ITL's have in comparison to the Cisco 7941's.

I was recently tasked with comparing the SV 8500 and the Cisco call manager. our study found that when it comes to redundancy the NEC was the way to go. On a side note i have heard great things about the UCB from Zeacom for voice mail and unified messaging havent seen it in action yet but we are supposed to install one this quarter.
