Upgrade From 1.4 to 3.0

Whats the best way to upgrade from 1.4 to 3.0?
Do i need to upgrade to 2.0 then 2.1 and finnaly 3.0?
Or just go straight from 1.4 into 3.0?
I have a IPO 412.

I'd do it one level at a time and check it each time with the Wizard. Very slow but it will be worth it. I've had a corrupt 412 in the past, the re-write took me ages.
