Hi.

I see that I have a backup/upgrade/remote card in my ACS R4.0. Docs say it is good for "one" upgrade.
Does that mean that I can upgrade our software from r4.0 to r7 or whatever the new one is?

What is involved in that? or am I wrong?

Please advise.

Thank you,

Hi Kdifs,
You can upgrade your R4 to an R6 at the most. The R7 is a different animal. The card will do one upgrade only in the first unit it is powered up in.

so, did I already do it? The card has been installed in my ACS r4.0 since i bought them. It came with my ACS

Yes; the first time the processor is powered on with an upgrade card inserted, the upgrade will happen. Does the upgrade card or documentation mention a version?

I'll check and see what I can find. The ACS unit says 4.0. Is there a way I can check the software version through the menus?

On any display phone, press Feature 5 9.
You willl see a display like:
P ACS R6.0 C01
The C01 designates country USA.

Hi kdifs,
Well there you are. If you need to upgrade to R6 at some point, make sure you buy the card from a dealer in your area. Too many rip offs on Ebay.
