Hi All,
I had the evaluation version of SQL 2000 installed a while a go. I needed the samples so proceeded to do an upgrade (this time choosing to include the sample files). However the CD did not give me this option. It just went ahead with the upgrade and seems to have deleted a lot of files. I'm using Win XP Pro.
It deleted the ReportServer Folder and ReportManager folders. I had to re-create them (not sure if I could just do this for it to work properly or whether the original installation placed certain files in these folders for the thing to work).
However when I try to launch the ReportServer, it prompts me for a password. It also does not allow me to start the ReportServer within the Services Administration tool.

How can I get reporting services back up and running?

cheers

SQL Server 2000 didn't originally come with Reporting Services. RS was available in 2003 on a separate disk. I only got it when I ordered a Developers version of SQL 2000. Your best alternative is to check with whomever originally installed RS and see if you can't get the CD from them. Without the install files, there is no guarantee you'll be able to get RS back up and running properly.
