Will the new Wizard all me to upgrade a IP403 unit from 1.3 all the way to 2.1? Or will I need to go through the painstaiking steps of 1.3 - 1.99 - 2.0 - 2.1 ?? Thanks

No - Yes

ie. 403 upgrade to 1.99 and then to 2.1.

OK... Looks like a fun night ahead!

Hoew did the upgrade go?

Provided you followed the basic rules You should have been fine

1) keep the IPO isolated from the customers network (not essential but can be a cause of problems)

2) Ensure that your laptop/PC has a FIXED ip address & is on the same subnet as the IPO.

3) Make sure thet you have a serial cable - just incase.

Upgrade was not bad. I had thought that the new 2.1 wizard had some fancy upgrade utility, but actually it just directed me to go through Manager, as I've always done in the past.

The only thing that concerned me was that my 30-port digital station module wasn't recognized until I took the IP403 all the way to 2.1. I'm not sure if this was do to an improper power-up sequence or the fact that the DS30 was already at 2.0.

As sizbut said, 1.3 - 1.99 - 2.1

Relax now.

Having been a beta tester for some of the early 2.1's, ie. having done upgrades from 2.1(this) to 2.1(that), I can say that the new validated upgrade process available within 2.1 makes life a whole lot easier and reduces the risk factors hugely.
