What programming do you lose when upgrading from basic to essential? Prompts, voice mails, button mapping, line config etc?

Never done it as I was so far always able to NOT install the basic mode but I would think that you lose everything as they are completely different in structure. Only a guess though.

Thanks I was hoping at least voice mail would be saved. Oh well

Copy the files out and convert them to wav, if you need to save them for later.

Kind regards

The only time most of us upgrade basic to essential is with a Virgin system on initial install

you will probably have to fully reconfigure but It would be useful hear first hand confirmation VM Messags "Might" be retained if the user names don't change but i would not want to place a bet on it
