Upgrade ACS 1.0 to 6.0 for caller ID 4

I have a ACS 1.0....I need to bring it up to a 6.0 for caller ID.
Can I use the normal 6.0 upgrade card or do I have to go to a 2.0 or 3.0 first....Then 6.0....Or ...Can't be done??

You shouldn't upgrade a 1.0 to 6.0. I've always been told that it needs to be a 1.1 or higher to upgrade to a 6.0.
That being said, I have done it in the past without any problems. Enter at your own risk.

Pre R4 ACSs had problems where the power supplies would over heat and they would get so hot sometimes that components would fall off. I would consider a newer processor or buy a new power supply to install within the processor.

I agree with ttech. Purchasing a brand new R6 would probably be a better way to go rather than upgrading an old processor (assuming that the old one could be flashed).

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
