Upgrade 8X24 from DR3 to DR5.1 ?

Do I lose all Data if I take out DR3 and put a DR5.1 ?
How about if I put a DR5 in stead?
Do I have to reprogram all 50 telephones?
Client wants a Flash Talk...DR3 does not accept...

I would document all the programming anyway then try it.Even if it is supposed to work it sometimes dosn't. There might be an upgrade kit available.

You should have no problem upgrading to 5.1
You will not be able to back up your programming since Norstar Manager requires at least DR5 SP: 30MUJ24 for RAD functionality.

I take it they are too cheap for the MICS upgrade!
5.1 should upgrade fine, but if your capacitor is no good in the KSU, all will be lost. This is very common in the 8x24 because of it's age.
