O.K I give up! I'm throwing in the towel, waiving the white flag, and calling UNCLE.

I am trying to upgrade a 5.5 MR2 database (this process will be used to upgrade an entire store system) via the dm-u command line on my 5.7.6.1 Micros Res 3700 Windows 7 image but every time it errors out at the key file.

02/12/2020 11:46:23 AM Converting database: d:\micros\database\data\backup\micros_2020_02_11_11_33.mbz5g3
02/12/2020 11:46:26 AM Restoring Micros backup file d:\micros\database\data\backup\micros_2020_02_11_11_33.mbz5g3
02/12/2020 11:46:26 AM Decompressing backup file.
02/12/2020 11:46:27 AM Restoring passwords and encryption keys.
02/12/2020 11:46:28 AM Restoring passwords and encryption keys failed, key file not found.
02/12/2020 11:47:29 AM DM Return Code = 1

The Micros 5.5 backed up key file is: MicrosKeyBackup.mbz5g3
It is in the same directory as the backed up database and the SQLserver is ON.

I have also tried the same procedure with the SQLserver OFF which returns the following error:

02/12/2020 10:44:43 AM Converting database: d:\micros\database\data\backup\micros_2020_02_11_11_33.mbz5g3

The same thing happens when I tried to restore a 5.7.3.2 DB

NOTE: I am able to restore a backed up 5.7.6.1 database just fine.

any help much appreciated!!!

There use to be something about using a 3.2 db and then resetting the keys to default.
Then use your 5.7 db to upgrade
Do you mind sharing the 5.7.6.1 patch?
