Hi everyone,

I'm currently running R11.0.4.2.0 build 58, System is A-Law (Australia) and my IPO 500v2 box is PCS11. I'm currently using a 4GB SD Card (System original had R7).

Details of existing card: Avaya IPO A-LAW System SD PCS 07 (700479702) - 4GB

I'm at the point where I really need to think about upgrading to an 8GB card due to capacity. I've rebuilt my existing card several times so I'm familiar with formatting & recreating the SD card using Manager but I have a couple of questions:

-Do I need an Avaya branded SD card or can you use any type of 8GB card? If I need the Avaya branded card, does anyone know the comcode for an 8GB A-Law or does it not matter about the A-Law or U-Law If I'm rebuilding anyway?

-I'm on PLDS licensing of course and will I need to lodge a ticket to have my licenses transferred over to the new card, or do I simply upload them again once I've rebuilt the card using the correct manager process?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks, Tim

You need to use an Avaya branded card. The comcode is the same, they just happen to be 8gb now; 700479710. It will likely come as ULaw, just rebuild it as ALaw. drop your config.cfg into the primary folder.
You will have to have the PLDS licenses re-hosted to the new feature key number. Your business partner should be able to do this for you.

It has to be an Avaya card, as it has a serial number embedded in it

[tt]
Feature Key Dongle................SAP Code
IPO IP500 V2 SYS SD CARD A-LAW....700479702
IPO IP500 V2 SYS SD CARD MU-LAW...700479710
[/tt]

If you have an MU-Law card you can reformat it as A-Law
Do that ONLY through Manager

You will have the serial number ahead of time, so rehost the licenses, get the xml file, rename to PLDSKeys.xml and copy to the Primary folder, along with the current config renamed to config.cfg after you format and recreate the card.

Thanks for the tip @TouchToneTommy.

Just re-host the licenses through my PLDS portal when I'm ready to swap out the SD card?

Yep, just do a re-host/move and upload the new license.

Hi @AACon just a quick question. What is your experience like with Avaya when submitting the re-host via the PLDS portal. Will it instantly transfer the licenses to the new SD Card or does it take a few days for Avaya to come back with a confirmation?

Anyones help with this would be greatly appreciated as it will determine when I lodge the re-host/move. Haven't done one of these before...

Thanks, Tim

It's instant on the portal, but, I have business partner access, so maybe it's different for you?

Thanks @AACon- I’ll give it a go once the SD card arrives.
