Upgrade 3.3(2) to 3.3(4) Error

When upgrading from 3.3(2) to 3.3(4) in a test lab environment I get the following error on the publisher serverafter confirming that I wish to proceed with the upgrade process:

FindFirstFile: Return Code 21 The Device is not ready

After clicking OK, the upgrade program closes.

I ran the CCM 3.3(4) Upgrade assistant prior to installation, and it reported all was ok to proceed

I have installed latest SQL 2000 updates and OS updates, Win 2000 SP4

Checked Cisco compatibility matrix and seems that I should be ok to upgrade to 3.3(4) from 3.3(2) - I would like to get the CCM's to version 3.3(4) so I can test upgrade to Version 4 before attempting this on a live CCM system.

Would be most grateful if anyone could advise on this?

When you say you have applied the latest SQL and OS updates and Win 2k SP4, were they the Cisco versions or the Microsoft versions?

The SQL and OS upgrades were downloaded from Cisco, WinSP4 was from Microsoft.

All updates installed without errors.

While this is probably not your problem, you should NEVER use Microsoft's SP's on a CCM server. Cisco flavored Win2k SP4 is included with the current version of Cisco's OS updates. What is your current OS version? Is this a Cisco approved hardware platform?
I've done this upgrade a couple times with no problems.

Thanks for your input, I got over the issue by making sure the 3.3(2) publisher upgrade CD was in the CD drive and then everything seemed to go smoothly. Seems like the 3.3(4) upgrade was looking for a CD file or something - I didn't think it would be necessary to insert a 3.3(2) upgrade CD as the 3.3(4) upgrade file was a web download from Cisco site, not a CD upgrade and the 3.3(4) readme does not say this is necessary in the documentation.

Anyway, seems to be ok now, thanks for your help.
