IE
we have an ipo running v8.1 with 1608 handsets running 1.3.2 firmware.
we've received a new batch of 1608 handsets. they need to be upgraded to 1.3.5 to avoid the known issue of duplicate mac addresses on a downgrade to 1.3.2
is there a routine to upgrade the handsets to 1.3.5 without upgrading the ipo to a newer release.

thanks

Download the latest 16xx firmware from support.avaya.com and copy all the files from the download to the fileserver ( SD Card>Primary folder? ).
Then reboot the phones ( or one to check ) and it should upgrade itself.

intrigrant
is there another option as its an ipo500 v1 so no sd card?

1) Download latest Manager and install it.
2) Install an HTTP server such as IIS in Windows.
3) make the root of the web server the Program Files\Avaya\Manager dir where all the BIN files are.
4) Point the IP Address of your HTTP server in Manager to your PC / Laptop where you have just completed the above.
4a) Or configure up the options in your DHCP scope to reflect your HTTP server
4b) Hard set the HTTP (File SV) on the phone to your PC / Laptop
5) Reboot phones
6) Wait patiently for the upgrade.

thanks Hairlessupportmonkey. i'll try that later.

I advised to copy them to the fileserver and suggested it may be a SD Card.
I assumed as it is a excisting site that there is a fileserver present.
