Following the post already started some years ago i face problems converting a SIP 1230 set to Unistim.
Anyone with fresh experience to help?
My 1230 and 1220 are on SIP12X0.01.01.01.00 (Sets have been converted to SIP long time ago to do testing ) and now i need to use them on BCM. So what is the trick? This is the original SIP firmware for 12XX sets, do i need to go to a newer version of SIP and then to Unistim or direct to Unistim?
thanks

yes i have seen this video but the 1140E in the video has a new version of SIP it is 4.03.09.00 while my sets are on the very first SIP firmware the SIP12X0.01.01.01.00. In TFTP logs i see some activity and some bytes are going up but nothing happens and the set continues to boot on the existing SIP firmware.
thanks

Nikos

Is it possible to create a local TFTP Server on your computer and get your updated firmware loaded in that way onto your IP phones?.
What release is your BCM system.

I run tfp32 and i see the 1230 gets IP from the build in DHCP and also tries to pickup the bin file but for a reason i cannot understand it does not upgrade.
I believe my SIP firmware is the cause as it is the very firt Nortel issued long time ago, the set works fine with SIP provides and as SIP user on IP PBX systems but now i need it for bcm. In the lab i have all versions of BCM hardware and software but i need it to use with BCM50R6 now.
Any ideas? I will try to upgrade it to newer SIP version and if it works i will try to get it to unistim.

regards

Hello Nikos

I'm done a search and I have a copy of SIP1120e04.04.10.00.bin. I also have SIP1120e04.03.18.00.bin, Both copies are later than the file that you were after. You might want to contact away from this forum as I might be able to help you out. Please follow the details below.

My issue is not to find the bin files but why the 1230 set does not pick them from TFTP. I will try later today to do newer SIP upgrade.

01.01.01.00 was the version of SIP software which Nortel released for use on SCS (Software Communication System) and is completely different from the other SIP software for the 1100/1200. I seem to recall that you could not upgrade that version to either UNIStim or to the other SIP software.

Yoi are correct i was using these sets on SCS long time ago.
I still try to find a way to convert them to Unistim...

Solved the issue, case closed.
I went into BootC and entered the TFTP address manualy then it picked the correct firmware and now it is Unistim again!!!
