We have a succession 1000M multi group with FNF running R4. We are about to upgrade this to R5 does anyone know of the NTP number which details the process (if there is one), and things that must happen etc.

This is part of a network so there are sig servers NRS etc.

I'm not undertaking this work myself but need to be aware of what needs to happen.

Anmy advice, tips or experiences welcome.

not a bad upgrade, your on site books are rls 4 so they don't talk about rel 5.. planning and enb 3 of 5 has that information but it has to be rls 5 cd to cover that upgrade.. prior (5 days or more) to the upgrade the provider should provide you with a nortel doc, (soft) of the procedure and the rls notes... ask for it.

i have worked with techs that threw away the rls notes because he did not want the customer to know everything that the switch would do.. 15 years ago, 90 percent of customers did not know they owned the switch and a lot of "techs" would not do anything that might lead to work.. cust are smarter, things are better.. the rls notes are the most important thing.. be sure you have the keycodes post upgrade, and any install or upgrade software the tech uses. you paid for it along with all the cd's...

the upgrade itself is a few more steps then a server upgrade. (that;s all it is) because of the os.. takes a few more monites if your bumping up cpu speed (not usually for that one) or ram... other then that the hardest part is watching the screen
