We have a customer that is telling us that another reseller has informed him that he can keep his quick edition handsets and upgrade to ip office by only upgrading the firmware on the handsets

Is this correct? I thought QE Handsets were a seperate beast

If so how ??

Thanks in Advance

I believe there is a way to flash the firmware to make them a standard IP Phone, never done it though.

ACS - IP Office Implement

it is basically the same phone (4610 or 4620) but runs on different firmware. I heard that you can flash it to become a regular IP set but not back. I have however never tried it myself.

If you can't be good, be good at it!

You need to be on the latest "quick edition" edition :)
Then it should be possible to upgrade the phones

I never done it myself but i did read this in a document

ACA - Implement IP Office
ACS - Implement IP Office
ACA - Voice Services Management

Women and cats can do as they please and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea!

Have you tried setting the TFTP as a server with the IPO firmware on to see if it takes it??

Like said above. Don't do it unless you are sure you don't need it as a QE phone, you won't get it back to one!!

There is a conversion wizard on the Business partner portal. You run the wizard, it grabs the Mac addresses of the phones, that you have to send to AGS to get licenses for (S8xxx series). Then restart the wizard and it will load the h.323 firmware.

I went to the business partner portal and could not find the links to the conversion wizard is it somewhere else? I need to change quick edition sets to regular ip sets.
