hello
i try install a second 6 ports fiber expansion card, but. when turn on the power the mics only say "in maintenace". my xc software is 7.0
I have a 6-port card fiber expansion already installed in slot 2 (right) and work fine. but install the second card and only say "IN MAINTENACE"
please help me
thanks a lot

I think It needs to be a combo. Move the combo 6 port to the last slot then install the 6 port.

the problem come when try install de 2do 6 port expansion card in the left side (slot 1), when turn on only say "in maintenace". but remove the 2do. expansion fiber card and work fine when turn on.

some of you something similar ever happened?

appreciate all the help possible

thanks a lot

you will need to replace the software as well since you are installing 2 expansion cards. you need XC software

thanks allworxguy

i have xc software 7.0 installed
max time "in maintenance" 10 minutes

or how long time need to leave on for updating the software?

The PBX was installed so with 7.0, and 6-port card without T1 fiber no combo, and has installed 6 modules and programming are the 3 to 8, and we need to add a second expansion card of fibers 9 to 14 to add a module 0x16

• For a two-port (midi) system, a two-port fiber Expansion
Cartridge is installed only in ICS slot 2.
• For a six-port (maxi) system, a six-port fiber Expansion
Cartridge or a Combination Fiber six-port Services
Cartridge is installed only in ICS slot 2.
• When a six-port fiber Expansion Cartridge is installed in
ICS slot 2, either an additional six-port fiber Expansion
Cartridge, for a fully analog trunk system, or a
Combination Fiber 6-port Services Cartridge, can be
installed in ICS slot 1 for a 14-port (mega) system with
digital or BRI lines.
• Two Combination Fiber 6-port Services Cartridge are
supported on a mega configuration using both ICS slots 1
and 2. When expanding beyond 6 ports, it is recommended
two Combination Fiber 6-port Services Cartridge be used
if two DTI cards are installed.
• For a 14-port (mega) system, any combination of the 6-
port fiber Expansion and the Combination Fiber 6-port
Services Cartridge is supported using both ICS slots 1 and
2.

Remove the new card and see what you get, go back to original config. if it is good take the new card and insert in slot 2 and see what you get, might be a bad card. If it is good insert old card that was in slot 2 to slot 1 if bad could be KSU or software.

I will try what you mention and I notice the results

any comments are welcome

thanks a lot

also when you get it up with just the 1 card go ahead and log in and go to MAINT and get the Version number and post it here please. I just want to make sure it is XC, I have seen software labeled wrong in the past.

OK, I will check the version number and post here to find out for sure.

Thanks a lot

I enter in MAINTENANCE menu, SYSTEM VERSION is SP: 30DEC04 NAT

in MODULE STATUS, only I can see from 3 to 8

in the pcmcia card software, I see this description
NA- mics- DR 7.0 FC

Do I need to change the card version? What is the correct version to install 2 cards 6 port fiber expansion? to add more than 9 modules

Like stated above you have the first release of 7.0 Standard Software. You will need to upgrade to XC, you can go with 7.0 XC or 7.1 XC. Personally if I were upgrading I would go ahead and go to 7.1.

If I change from standard 7.0 version to XC 7.1, do I have to reprogram all true? and last question, I use the same NVRAM or also I have to replace?

Thanks to everyone for their help.
