Upfront: Problems with Report-Layout

hi all,

I have published impromptu reports (7.0) in upfront via Reports Publishing.

Some reports are in landscape and some of them are not displayed the way they are displayed in Impromptu.
In impromptu the report-layout fits on one page, unlike in upfront. In upfront the generated pdf-report consists of 2 pages, whereas the second page only contains the last column.

Do you have any suggestions why this "layout-problem" occurs?

kind regards,
Timida

Timida,

Sometimes the "dynamic" sizing of columns will push the
upfront pages to overflow.
Usually you just need to drag the last column, resize it,
to off of the right edge of the page/margin.

sln007,

I don't use dynamic sizing of the columns - I specified the the width of all columns to a certain value (column - properties - specify).

I suppose it is a configuration problem... we have two upfront-server and one displayes the report correctly and on the other it is shown on two pages and I don't know why.

Timida,

Ok. I usually size all columns myself also.

Make sure you have the same version of Adobe on
your servers.

That's about the only other general solution
I can think of.

Good Luck.

Timida,

Did you try to save the file as a PDF manually in Impromptu client to see if it pushed the right columns into a separate page? These kind of problems usually come from differences in printer drivers on the different computers. The Acrobat renderer is just another output device to Impromptu. It may account for the difference between the client view of the report (based on default printer driver) and IWR.

Impromptu Client uses a different PDF rendering process than IWR. Unfortunately it tends to be a trial and error thing. Make sure you have a development Upfront, or at least a development folder within Upfront. Publish your report there, then test the layout to make sure it's working properly.
