Hi guys,
can you tell me how I should proceed if I want to upgrade our current samba 2.2.5 to 2.2.8 ? Can I just install it over our current version ? I have same question regarding apache 1.3.23 to 2.0.45.
Moreover, I have to update our linux-box which is debian 2.2 to debian 3.0.
Can you give me some hints ? Thanks.

Samba will not be a problem. Apache will be a big problem. Apache has changed many things in 2.X, including file locations. I would be very careful upgrading Apache. Samba should not be any problem.
