updating sql database using dreamweaver mx & asp.net

I am attempting to update a database record with Dreamweaver MX using ASP.NET. I have the datagrid set up to include the edit button and have changed the columns from readonly = true to false but it still won't update the information. It doesn't blow up, just returns to the edit page as if it worked, but the data isn't changed. Do I need a new connections? Am I not setting all the switches correctly?

Any hints, tutorials, settings I am missing that will help me with this?
