Is there a way to find out how many records where just updated without writing a new query? Thanks...

I actually wasn't aware of it either. I was curious about jags22's question and wondered whether or not a query's recordcount would work. I Googled something like "ColdFusion Update Query RecordCount" and came up with that link.

I haven't tried it out, and don't really know if I'll get the chance to. I've pretty much abandoned Queries in favor of Stored Procedures, especially for Inserts, Updates, and Deletes. Not to say there's anything wrong with Queries, I'm just a big fan of letting the database to the database work, and just have CF hand off the variables to a stored procedure.

Hope This Helps!

Thanks guys but I don't think it will work with an Oracle database.

I'll bet you could write a Stored Procedure that would return the number of updated records. [thumbsup2]

Just out of curiosity, were you able to try the RecordCount from the result structure?

Hope This Helps!
