Updating Project

My project connects to an Access DB. If I have to change the structure of my DB, like adding fields, how would I go about updating it without losing the data already there?

Sorry, I need to clarify a bit more. The project is already been compiled, packaged and set up on a computer. I need to send an update to the program, with modifications of the DB structure.
