Updating PPX report data in Excel - Urgent

Here is the problem. I am looking at a process which has reports that was created in powerplay and saved as a ppx. This report has been used as the data source in excel using "powerplay for excel". The process overwrites these ppx reports. The problem is when the excel spreadsheet is opened, the data in the new ppx is not reflected in the worksheet?
