I must be missing something. I wanted to upgrade our phone firmware from 7.1(1.0) to 7.1(2.0). I downloaded the updated firmware and installed to both our subscriber and publisher. When I check the default device firmware in CM, it has the new firware listed as the default load. The files have been verified to be in the TFTP directory as well.

However, none of our phones, 7940/60 will update when I restart them. Is there something I have to do to force these phones to update.

Thanks.

I seem to remember the TFTP service copies stuff to memory to improve performance so it may be the TFTP Service needs restarting on the CCM server(s) it is running on. Either that or a sure-fire way is to reload the server.

Good thought, but I have tried that already. I have actually rebooted both the publisher and subscriber. Still nothing.

Its like the phones aren't looking for firmware because they already have a version loaded.

Check to make sure that the phones are finding the TFTP server correctly (you can check this on the phone, Settings - Network Configuration - #8). I know that sounds obvious, but I've had someone decide that our DHCP option 150 TFTP Server address wasn't necessary, so they deleted it.

As an aside, 7.1.2 is *not* the best load on the planet to go to for your 7960-40's - the latest load is 7.2.3 (very good, stable load).
