Updating Microsoft Excel Chart (unbound object) in form

I have a Microsoft Excel Chart as an unbound object in my form. I have set it to automatic update and in tools->options->advanced, set refresh interval to 1 second. Now, I have VB code that updates the chart when I move to the next record but unfortunately my unbound object doesn't update! I have to physically double-click on the object to update it. Is there anyway to actually automate this update??
