Updating License File V10

Hello,

I updated our AntiVirus software to Symantec Corperate V10 about a year ago and now it's time to renew the subscription.

I've decided to add about 20 more licenses to our subscription for some planned growth over the next few months. I was then issued with a new Serial number for activation.

As I wasn't sure how to enter in the serial number I contacted Symantec's Gold support who claimed I dont need to update the serial number and that everything will run fine if I dont do anything.

I was then talking to another Network Administrator recently who claimed the opposite. He said that it'll stop downloading the latest updates if I dont update the serial number; and that I had to visit a web site to update the serial number.

Does anyone know the correct procedure I should be following? And does anyone have the web address to update my serial number?

The Corporate symantec systems I've setup (including the one I'm on hold for with support right now) the comptuer scan engines didn't need a license file, just the Mail Security for exchange (and I would assume other groupware products)
