Hi

3300Mxe 4.1. Added 30 licences on AMC however the customer is struggling to allow the Mitel access to the internet to synch.
Customer doesnt want to download and fix licences to hardware ID.
Therefore looking to assign licence via the Software Installer Tool.
I beleive this can be done and a reboot will be needed? If so I plan to complete tonight

Can anyone provide a step by step guide.
So far I am connected with the software installer tool, and on the step 1 option to perform, however I dont know what options to select. Can anyone advise please?

Thanks

Hi,

Select "Perform full install", then next. leave database backup selected if you want, saving a local copy would be sensible. De-select everything else apart from "license and option configuration"

It will retrieve the current options from the 3300, and you can retrieve the latest options from the AMC

If you use the latest installer tool 12.0.0.17, you won't necessarily have to reboot - depends on new license you are applying.

Can i use the latest SWI tool even though the system is on 4.1?

Yes, it should be fine. Installer tool will work with everything back to 7.0

I believe the SI not requiring a reboot on licesne updates only applies to MCD6.0
