here is an extract
To force a firmware download to a Nortel IP telephone
• Configuration > Resources > Telephony Resources > Terminal Details tab
• Configuration > Telephony > Sets > Active Sets > Capabilities and Preferences > IP
Terminal Details
2 Select an IP telephone from the list.
3 Click Force firmware download.
