Updating fields

I have a stock receiving Dbase! I have created a append qry that copies the record to the stock table, but it is adding a new record everytime instead of just adding the quantity of a specific product to the table!

how can I get it to identify a product name and just adding the incoming stock to the quantity of a product?

Hi!

You need to use an update query instead of an append query. Just add together the quantity on hand from the products table with the amount received and use that to update the quantity on hand.
