I have developed a staff management database for use by around 10 users. I have succesfully split the database (thanks to this forum!) I do not have access to each of the sites and each site will have it's own data in the back end. I want to distribute the F/E and blank B/E via e-mail and have it install automatically so that it will be installed to the same file location at each site.

I will continue to develp the front end and periodically will need to send an update (via e-mail) to the other users. Is there a way to automate the process for the users, eg. they download an update file from their e-mail and the F/E is updated.

There may also be occassion to update the design of the B/E, such as adding an extra table or extra columns, but without affecting the data.

I have found some really useful suggestions on the forum around this subject which I am playing with as we speak, but any additional info would be much appreciated.

I would add that I am strictly a trial and error learner and not an experienced programmer. Many thanks.

You may wish to consider sending your users an 'update' database that will run through various checks and then carry out the required changes. This will allow you to test everything before you email.
