Updating cognos folders with new database table columns 1

Hi,

I have an issue with updating my folders in my impromptu catalog. When I started to use Imprompotu, I created 10 folders based on 10 different database tables.

But in the meantime, I did some amendments on the tables and some new columns were added to the different database tables.

The issue is that I cannot find anywhere the option "update folder". The only thing I found was create new folder based on database table. But I just want to update my existing folders with the new columns.

If I create a new folder including all database tables, and delete the old folder, I am not sure if my reports which I created till now on the old folder will still run.

Does somebody have an idea / experience in updating the folders?

Via the catalog - Tables menu make sure the new fields have been added to the catalog from the database.

Then use the catalog - folders option, select the Generate button and select the Database table radio button, select the table and a new folder entry that contains all the original fields and the new fields are created. Copy and paste the new fields into the appropriate folder and rename. You can delete the new folder to tidy up the catalog.
