updating calculation fields after running a querry

I have a spread sheet that uses a querry to bring back two fields. I have 8 fields with vlookup statements that use one of the querry fields. When the querry comes back the vlookup statements do not update. I have tried to press f9 key to get a calculation but it does not work. Is there something I need to be doing in my sheet to have it auto update the vlookup fields?
