ok so this should be a simple question...maybe not. I am going to be upgrading the code on ASA 5505 and these are my steps....the new .bin file should not be affected until I RELOAD...correct? I want to stage everything before I leave for work and reload at night.

copy tftp disk0:
Address or name of remote host []? 172.x.x.5
Source filename []? asa804-28-k8.bin
Destination filename [asa804-28-k8.bin]?
Accessing tftp://172.x.x.5/asa804-28-k8.bin...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
show disk0:
!verify file
boot system disk0:/asa804-28-k8.bin
write memory

Wait till about 10pm
reload

Should work right?

failover like a back up plan or plan B or failover ASA? no failover ASA, only one device

Failover ASA. Did you remove the old .bin file from the boot order? To remove the old .bin file - no boot system disk0:/OLD.BIN

Always backup your current config before reloading.
