Hi I have a question we are required to update the maintenance level of our aix machine.. from 4.3.3.0 to 4.3.3.11 the problem is when I run oslevel it gives me 4.3.3.0 but when I run oslevel -r it shows me 4.3.2.0.

I also run lppchk -v but it does not shows me any filesets that are in 4.3.2

Will there be a problem if I update the maintenance level to 11?

Are you sure it's not the other way around?

I have a 4.3.3 box that's reported 4.3.2.0 for a plain "oslevel" ever since it was upgraded from 4.3.2.

I upgraded it to ML-9 a while back, and "oslevel -r" reports 4330-09, whereas "oslevel" still reports 4.3.2.0. Besides that, there's no apparent problem with the update.

If you've got a disk available, alt_disk_install is the way to go. It allows you to back out gracefully with a simple change to the bootlist.

Your mileage may vary.
There's always the potential of a problem with an upgrade.
Be sure to backup everything twice and verify the backups before you begin.

actually when i run oslevel-r it shows me 4320-02 and when I run oslevel it shows up 4.3.3.0

try "oslevel -q" to get the known maintenance levels, then if, for instance, the highest level listed was 4.3.3.0, you can run "oslevel -l 4.3.3.0" to see what filesets are below that level.
