Updating a shared database file

Here's the scenario:

I have a group with 6 users. Each user will maintain there own ACT 6.0 database file on there local machine (necessary for when they travel and need to have there database information available). 4 of these users need to be able to update a networked version of there database on a set schedule so that in the event of there absence someone else can field questions and handle problems. What do I need to do to set this up correctly?

My thought is this:

1. Set up a database on each local machine as well as an identical database on the network drive for the 4 users who will be sharing information - named the same thing, user name and password the same, everything identical.

2. Allow the user to work with there own database locally until the time comes that they need to update the networked version.

**This is where I'm not sure what to do. I'm not familiar with sychronizing the files and what is involved in all of that. Someone help!**

Also, if anyone has a better idea about how to handle this, I'd really appreciate the help.
