Hi, is there any way to update a changed report without having to first delete it and then republish it? Thanks.

Sure, open it using the ENTERPRISE icon in the lower left of your OPEN dialog within Crystal Reports, and then save it back the same way.

You'll need to still set the database/password again in CE, but it will preserve the other settings.

Oh, we don't have CR installed on our CE servers, we make the report changes on our CR dev machines then copy to the CE machines and republish, but first have to delete the report with CE admin, a pain when making many changes, I wish there was a way to republish and keep the same report name without the "(2)" being tacked on, but thanks for that info did not know that.

You can connect to the CE server and it's objects from other machines using CR as described above. I never stated that you needed CR on the CE server.

Hi,
Also, in V10 and up ( maybe even 9) there are settings in the Properties tab in the CMC for a report that will prevent the saved database information from being changed by resaving the report as synapsevampire posted..Under 'Refresh Options' you can uncheck the 'default database info' box ( and, if you want, the 'Description' one as well) - as long as you are not changing the datasource, this will eliminate the need for post-saving actions.
