I am having a problem with Up2Date in the FC4 Gnome GUI, when I try to run it I get stuck at "Fetching rpm header: gdm-2.6.0.8-16.fc4" and it never moves. I've left it over night. I can see through my firewall logs that it is going out to the Redhat update site every few minutes but still never moves. I even changed the FTP sites in the yum.conf file to no avail. It still gets stuck on the same file.

Anyone have any ideas how to make this run all the way through? Thanks in advance!

Cheers
Rob

Thanks. Although I thought of that to and tried that to no avail. It says the package is already installed. At the point where it gets stuck it isn't trying to install anything but read the headers to see what is actually installed and if anything needs to be updated.

Cheers

Your package database may be corrupted. Look into guidance to rebuild your rpm database and see if it clears up.

What about trying your update via yum in a console? yum -y update. I did a quick search and briefly looked through a few links to Fedora Forum saying that up2date was a bit flaky , advises you to use yum instead.
