Updated data should be reflected in Cognos

Hi Genius,

We have one HP product integrated with Cognos. Cognos is receiving data from HP Product to build cubes and generate reports.

The problem is whenever we update parameters in HP product, cognos is giving report for the updated parameter after 48hrs. But this is not accepable from clients.. They are asking us to change it from 48hrs to lesser time. Is there any way to change it?

It looks like the cube refresh is somehow started either at regular intervals or with a delay.

When you say :'receiving data from HP' what do you mean? Normally the Cognos rebuilding of cubes will fetch new data. Is there a (sort of) staging or datamart between the HP application database and Cognos?

Are you using reports against cubes only, or do you have reports against a relational source (through a framework package) Check on the way Cognos reuses cached resultsets. This can be the cause of 'old' data, but 48 hours is a bit much..
