Updateable Query causing problem

I have created an Asp page that allows users to update their details. This was working fine on my local computer, however when I put it on the server and attempt to edit a members details it returns 'operation must use an updateable query'. I would really appreciate it if anyone could suggest some ideas as to why this is happening, and possibly a solution.
