Trying to apply an update to an LSP. Have the file on the S8300 already. When I try to unpack the update, I get this:

cust@server1> update_unpack 00.0.825.4-15175.tar.gz
00.0.825.4-15175.tar.gz already unpacked

When i try to activate the update, I get this:

cust@server1> update_activate 00.0.825.4-15175

00.0.825.4-15175 is not in the correct state (state = packed).

I'm confused, any ideas?

Thanks,

Jim

Here are the results of update_show.

cust@server1> update_show

There are no updates on the system.

I don't who/what is more confused, me or the G350.

did you change your directory to cd /var/home/ftp/pub and then try to load the patch..?

Yes I changed the directory with the same results.

I would call AVAYA, but most likely, you have corruption. You can re-install CM5, via "manage software", and get a clean copy, and try it again. Or call AVAYA, and pay $$$, and in the end, they will suggest you re-install :)

Download it again so it overwrites the original one? I'll give it a try.

type "md5sum update_unpack 00.0.825.4-15175.tar.gz" and make a note of numbers. Compare this to the download wedsite and see if your file is corrupted.

I compared the md5sum and they are exactly the same.

I got this fixed by calling Avaya. They were able to unpack it. Don't get it. No charge by the way.

I had that issue a few times and Avaya was not forth coming with an answer to why. Must be a Linux issue.
