update time required

Hi fellows,

I need to find a way to place a field based on the update date.

For example, other properties will modify their own table and when they do, we need to know when was this modified. I'd like to place a field at the end of the table showing when the table was updated. don't have a clue where to start with this one.

maybe this is too easy:
o create an extra field in your database, eg 'LASTCHANGED'
o Use the date() and time() function to fill a variable just before your UPDATE-statement
o Use that variable to in your UPDATE-statement to update the 'LASTCHANGED' field.
