Update TEC3.6.2 to 3.7.1

Hi,
I want to update the TEC 3.6.2 to 3.7.1 and I have problems to remove the old TEC Console Console. I´m running AIX 4.3.3. Also I cannot start the Java Console, because of the still existing 3.6.2 Console.

I would suggest that you proceed very carefully. We have had constant problems with TEC 3.7.1. The server crashes a lot and the client gets out of memory errors when we try to configure. Overall we are quite disappointed with the product.

General Instructions on upgrading from TEC 3.6.2 to 3.7.1

- Backup - Run Tivoli Desktop -> Backup - Select all managed nodes
- TEC 3.7.1 CD. Master TMR. Copy 3.7.1 patch 1 to temp dir
- Disable DM TEC monitors and push to TEC
- Stop TEC server, all consoles, all adapters. Kill processes that start with tec_* and RIM_* on TEC server

From Tivoli desktop -> install -> patches
- Tivoli Enterprise Console Server Upgrade to 3.7.1
- run script - /opt/Tivoli/bin/solaris2/TME/TEC/sql/upg_tec_db.sh

From Tivoli desktop -> install -> install product
- Tivoli Enterprise Console UI Server 3.7.1
- Tivoli Enterprise Console Sample Event Information 3.7.1
- Tivoli Enterprise Console Console 3.7.1

The following 2 patches need to be installed on TMR's, Gateways, TEC

From Tivoli desktop -> install -> patches
- Tivoli Enterprise Console Adapter Configuration Facility Upgrade to 3.7.1
- Tivoli Enterprise Console EIF Upgrade to 3.7.1 - if needed
**Notes:
For upgrade images are in /UPGRADE dir
For new install images are in /NEW dir
