We are updating one of our db from 2000 to 2008 on a new server. However we are keeping another db in 2000 on a different server. I'm assuming I can run a stored proc on the 2008 server and update the db on the 2000 server as long as I don't use any syntax not supported by 2000. These are procs currently running on the same server that have both of the db's. Would it be best to set up a linked server in this case? Any other issues I should be aware of?
